This is a little write up on the brief history of the roller during its time within the NS&CTEC. The Roller is an Aveling and Porter Single cylinder works No, 8316 built in 1914 registration no E5335. The engine new was sold to Staffordshire County Council.

The engine came part of the club back in the 1960s, since then it has supported the club in every event possible, under different leadership.
Lady Hamilton has had different levels of restoration completed since the 1960’s right the way up to 2000’s where it has had a complete new boiler built as the original one was no longer repairable. Works which have taken place while under ownership of NS&CTEC are as follows:
• Boiler works
• Motion works
• Axles
• Bearing
• Canopy Works
• New head stock
• Paint works.
